Much as I hate the Bushites and everything they stand for, I do have to give one of them some credit. Curt Weldon (R-PA) is a long-time member of the Congressional Fire and Emergency Services Caucus. As such, he (and the other 340 members of the Caucus) have been a voice for America's first responders.
I hope that at least a few of the newly-elected Democrats will take his place in this important group.
For your services to America's firefighters and EMS personnel, Mr. Weldon, thank you.
On the other hand, for your unswerving support of that lying sack of shit George W. Bush and his insane policies, STFU.
A propos of absolutely nothing, NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams is also a former volunteer firefighter.
You have to give these people credit, especially the volunteers. They're the ones that run into buildings everyone else is running out of. They don't get paid anything near what they're worth to American society (if they get paid at all), and their budgets are usually among the first to be cut (along with the cops).
Volunteer firefighters have to meet the same training criteria as the full-time paid guys, yet they often have to do it on their own time and at their own expense.
Now that we're done -- for a while -- with the requests for campaign donations, why not kick a few bucks towards your local fire department?

Good post 618. Give credit where credit is due. Not everybody associated with the Republitard party is a true conservatard. The vast majority are merely sycophants or sheeple. LOL
